Thanks to advances in computing and manufacturing technology over the last 50 years, small batch, boutique manufacturing is possible on a small budget. It's possible for independent manufacturing to rival or exceed the quality of commercial production across dozens of industries, and home manufacturing is often more sustainable too!
We run a Makerspace where we are refining techniques for making ... Everything! We're collecting guides on how to build things, which equipment has worked well for us, and instructions on how to make things! Plus, we're collecting and sharing Creative Commons licensed media files that you can use to make things too!.
Our goal is to inspire and enable a network of makers, helping workers pool ideas and resources, and make and sell all kinds of things around the country. It's a vision of a new kind of worker centered co-op, and a blueprint for a new, more sustainable way for artists and makers to work together for the benefit of everyone.
Of course, this is a brand new initative, so there's nothing to see yet. Check back soon.
